The Versova–Bandra Sea Link is a landmark marine infrastructure project designed to improve connectivity in Mumbai and reduce travel time between the western suburbs. Given the project’s complex marine environment, SAI Infratech, in partnership with Apco Infratech, was responsible for building a temporary access bridge and executing piling operations using conventional winch machines. This work formed the backbone of the construction process, allowing for seamless movement of equipment and materials in a challenging offshore location.

Brief Explanation

The Versova–Bandra Sea Link demanded precision marine engineering and careful planning to overcome tidal challenges, saltwater corrosion risks, and offshore accessibility constraints. SAI Infratech’s team successfully constructed a temporary access bridge, enabling the smooth movement of heavy machinery and construction materials over the Arabian Sea. We also carried out piling with conventional winch machines, ensuring the sea link’s piers have a secure and lasting foundation.

Our involvement ensured that critical preparatory and foundation works were completed on time, safely, and in compliance with marine construction standards, helping advance one of Mumbai’s most important connectivity projects.

  • Temporary Access Bridge Construction – Built a robust marine bridge structure to facilitate offshore construction activities.

  • Conventional Winch Piling – Executed deep marine piling to create stable foundations for piers and support structures.

  • Sheet-Pile Installations – Installed sheet-piling systems to ensure soil retention and structural integrity in the tidal zone.
